On Saturday, may 19th, 9 members traveled to the DSFS Dover Facility for some hands on foam training.
Chief Ron Dietrick of the Delaware City Refinery has gracioulsy provided with Refinery Management approval a foam trailer for the Delaware City Fire Company.
Today the members setup the trailer, deployed both handlines and pumped to the trailer and extinguished several evolutions with flowing the foam.
We ended the training with extinguishing the large pit fire. The first one we extinguished with 2 handlines and the final one utilizing the deck gun monitor on the trailer.
It was a great day for training even though we finished in the rain. Special thanks to Chief Ron Dietrick and Chief Chuck Snyder of the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company and the DSFS.
We expect to place this unit in service sometime in June. We will have it on display at this months NCC Chiefs Association Meeting we are hosting on June 7, 2018.
