Confined Space Rescue (54D1T) - 5000 Block of Governor Printz (Brandywine Hundred)

14:39hrs, Station 11(Brandywine Hundred), Station 13(Claymont), Station 15(Delaware City) along with the New Castle County High Angle/Confined Space and Trench Rescue Teams were dispatched to the area of 5000 Governor Printz for a worker down in a trench. Units arrived on scene to find a person 25 feet down in a trench after a piece of heavy equipment had fallen on them. Crews from both county teams, Wilmington Fire Department Rescue 1, Brandywine Hundred firefighters placed a Tower/Ladder (TW-11) in service with a mechanical advantage hauling system and removed the person. The person was removed @ 16:10hrs. The person was transported to Christiana Emergency Room. Crews were on scene for over 2 hours.
