Saturday, September 6th, the Ladies Aux. to the Delaware City Fire Company celebrated their 50th Anniversary. A banquet was held at the Delaware City Memorial Hall to commemorate this special occasion. A dinner, catered by Le Chateau was followed by a short ceremony in which the ladies were given resolutions by the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association Ladies Auxiliary, read by President Deb Marvel and the New Castle County Volunteer Firefighters Association Ladies Auxiliary, read by President Mickey DeCino. Our fire company presented the ladies with a plaque as well as an evening out. A wonderful slide show, by Dave Jones, was shown with pictures of many of our ladies over the years. The ladies first donation to the fire company was $300.00, the ladies donation to the fire company last year was $50,000 – look how far we’ve come! The evening was then followed by dancing, laughs and an awesome night of celebrating our 50 years.
