Fatal MVC involving Car v. Tractor Trailer

On Tuesday monring, November 30th at 01:33 hours Station 15 was alerted to a MVC with an Ejection on Route 1 NB / Red Lion Road Underpass.  Conflicting reports initially had the accident Route 1 NB / Pulaski Highway Overpass which Stations 3,6,12 were alerted for.  Christiana units continued southbound on Route 1 until they arrived on scene at the correct address which Delaware City was then dispatched for.

A15 responded while Rescue Engine 12, Ladder 12, B6, A12, B12, M2D, ALS12 and ALS21 had arrived on scene.  Rescue Engine 12 advised the patient was ejected and a DOA.  RE12 Officer assumed Delaware City Command and requested HazMat 30 and DNREC due to the large volume of deisel fuel that was spill.  Command also advised no need for Station 15 response.  A15 was available from the scene.

Command placed the scene under control at 02:30 hours turning the scene over to DSP / DelDot.
